Our core rules are to respect each other, and keep it safe! Our staff and volunteers are there to welcome all participants and to keep everyone safe and entertained.
Prepare For Your Visit
Wear Old Clothes
At ColourPlay we encourage everyone to get involved with your creation, and that means you should expect to get messy!
Old clothes are strongly recommended for your FreeFlow session as we don’t have aprons!
Most of our resources will wash out, but there are some things which may not want to shift and with it being a unrestricted studio we cannot guarantee there wont be stray paint splashes no matter how careful you’re being!
Everyone Joins In!
FreeFlow is strictly for our young people aged 8 to 15 - no Grown-ups allowed! Our team of staff and volunteers are on hand to support everyone to get involved and to explore all our materials to get the most out of our session.
Create together and you will all have more fun!
Enjoy a Cold Drink & Snack
Our intimate Colour Room space does not allow us to offer cafe facilities.
But, we are happy to offer free complimentary bottled water, as well as a range of cold drinks and snacks to purchase at very reasonable prices!
How It Works
FreeFlow is open to Young People aged 8 to 15 only.
We ask that a parent or guardian attend at drop-off for an individual's first session to complete registration and permission forms.
Exclusively for young people aged 8-15, Freeflow is the creative space where you are free to let your creativity flow in a supportive environment, free from judgment and surrounded by friends.
This October Week, we are excited to introduce our FreeFlow Week! A week-long Freeflow holiday club, where we can come together to express ourselves, connect and play all week!!
Spaces are limited, so advance booking is essential. Choose your days or take advantage of our multi-day discount and book the whole week!
Each day will look a little different. At ColourPlay, we always encourage freedom to move around the room and engage in whichever activities you prefer. With a everything from full sensory expression in our messy tray, to developing more technical art skills with sketching materials and a wide range of paints there will be plenty of options to inspire you and keep you creating all week long!
At ColourPlay we are very spoilt to have support from a dedicated team of highly talented volunteers, each with a varied background in art, and qualifications raging from Higher art to masters degrees! The team at ColourPlay are on hand to nurture creativity at every level of skill and stage of development.
Our 3 hour summer splash will include:
- A workshop with one of our staff/volunteers showcasing various art ideas/skills
- A different theme each day designed to spark creativity
- A snack break (Tuck shop available, or bring along your own)
- Full use of the room and all the standard materials for freeplay creativity.
- A take home craft/art piece.

Safeguarding & Protection
All staff and volunteers are Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme members, and are trained in ColourPlay's safeguarding policies and procedures, for everyone's protection. No other adults are allowed to remain within the ColourRoom during FreeFlow sessions.

Admission prices:
- Young Person (aged 8 to 15) from £6.66 per hour. Registration & Parent Permission Required per participant.
- £25 for one day, with increasing discount for each additional day booked. £100 for all 5 days.
- Sibling/Friend Group Discount – receive 15% discount for bookings of 2 or more.
- All sessions run 1pm to 4pm, 3 hours per day.
